• to turn it on simply open the digital viewfinder / the little viewing screen on the left hand side of the camera and wait for you to be able to see through the viewfinder before pressing record

  • to turn it off simply hold down the little on/off button inside

  • to start recording press the red button next to the battery at the back

  • to zoom toggle the little notch on top of the camera left and right

  • to change the battery open the battery notch at the bottom of the camera and slide it out, then put in the new battery the same way

  • to preview what you just recorded press the backwards arrow that appears after you record

  • charge it!!! it's important to note that the camera is old (that's what gets us the beautiful, nostalgic film at the end of the day) which means less film time, as the battery isn't like our phones, so it's very important that you charge it, turn it off when you're not using it, keep the spare battery charged at all times so you can enjoy longer film time

  • the SD card you don't need to worry about as it has 14 hours of filming available, so fire away!!

How to operate

How to operate

try using different angles & framings of shots such as:
- using zoom! using the zoom creates a cute 90s effect and is a really fun way to create interest
- take a selfy video with it (tip: the viewfinder rotates, so you can see yourself!)
- placing the camera on a bench (or somewhere safe) and moving in front of it for a group shot or other (having the camera stable will differentiate it from being otherwise hand held the whole time and give the person behind the lens to be featured!)

some ideas of what to capture such as:

  • popping champagne and pouring it into glasses

  • close ups of little details (love me a bride walking and close to her dress)

  • close up of hands / rings

  • love love love when people wave at the camera or smile directly at it, makes it feel warm, fuzzy and home video vibes.

  • dancing

  • getting ready / mirror shots

  • hugs & kisses with all!

  • general mingling

  • shoot from behind the photographer to truly get that BTS feeling

  • the little things that may not be featured in a normal/polished wedding video
